Dr. Anne Beall is CEO and founder of Beall Research, Inc. She specializes in strategic market research and has held positions at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and National Analysts. Anne conducts both qualitative and quantitative market research around the world. She specializes in conducting large-scale, complex strategic studies for Fortune 500 companies. She has worked in a variety of industries including food, beverages, apparel, bathroom hardware, financial services, hotels, telecommunications, insurance, utilities, package transportation/delivery, retail, schools, hospitals, foundations, mattresses, automotive, and personal-care products. She has conducted research in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Anne has conducted thousands of in-depth interviews and focus groups across many industries. She specializes in analyzing what respondents say but sometimes, more importantly, what they do not say. Anne has an unusual sensitivity for people and has created a method for reading nonverbal behavior called PERCEIVE, which can be used to read respondents when they are unable or unwilling to express their thoughts and feelings.
She has written the following books: The Psychology of Gender (Eagly, Beall, and Sternberg 2005), Reading the Hidden Communications Around You: A Guide to Reading Body Language in the Workplace (Beall 2009), Strategic Market Research: A Guide to Conducting Research that Drives Businesses (Beall 2010), and Community Cats: A Journey into the World of Feral Cats (Beall 2014). Anne received her master’s of science, master’s of philosophy, and PhD degrees in social psychology from Yale University. In her spare time, Anne is an amateur photographer and avid runner.
